केंद्रीय हिन्दी समिति (Central Hindi Committee)
केंद्रीय हिन्दी समिति भारत सरकार की राजभाषा नीति (Official Language Policy) के कार्यान्वयन, हिन्दी के प्रचार-प्रसार तथा उसके विकास से संबंधित सर्वोच्च नीति-निर्धारक समिति (Apex Policy-Making Body) है।
इस समिति का गठन वर्ष 1967 में भारत के प्रधानमंत्री की अध्यक्षता में किया गया था। इसका उद्देश्य विभिन्न मंत्रालयों, विभागों तथा राज्य सरकारों के बीच समन्वय स्थापित करना तथा राजकीय कार्यों में हिन्दी के प्रगतिशील प्रयोग (Progressive Use of Hindi) के लिए नीतिगत दिशा-निर्देश प्रदान करना है।
यह समिति राजभाषा नीति के क्रियान्वयन की समीक्षा करती है तथा सरकारी कार्यालयों में हिन्दी के प्रयोग को बढ़ाने के लिए आवश्यक सुझाव एवं दिशा-निर्देश प्रदान करती है।
समिति के अध्यक्ष प्रधानमंत्री होते हैं। सामान्यतः गृह मंत्री उपाध्यक्ष (Vice-Chairman) होते हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त विभिन्न केंद्रीय मंत्री, कुछ राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्री, संसद सदस्य तथा हिन्दी एवं अन्य भारतीय भाषाओं के प्रतिष्ठित विद्वान इसके सदस्य होते हैं।
केंद्रीय हिन्दी समिति के प्रमुख कार्य
- राजभाषा नीति के संबंध में व्यापक दिशा-निर्देश प्रदान करना।
- सरकारी कार्यालयों में हिन्दी के प्रयोग की प्रगति की समीक्षा करना।
- विभिन्न मंत्रालयों एवं विभागों के बीच समन्वय स्थापित करना।
- हिन्दी भाषा के विकास एवं प्रचार-प्रसार को प्रोत्साहित करना।
- राजभाषा नीति के प्रभावी क्रियान्वयन हेतु सुझाव देना।
- वार्षिक राजभाषा कार्यक्रमों की प्रगति की समीक्षा करना।
Central Hindi Committee
The Central Hindi Committee is the apex policy-making body for matters relating to the implementation, promotion and development of Hindi as the Official Language of the Union Government.
The Committee was constituted in 1967 under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister of India to provide guidance, policy direction and coordination among various Ministries, Departments and State Governments regarding the progressive use of Hindi for official purposes.
The Committee reviews the implementation of the Official Language Policy and suggests measures for increasing the use of Hindi in Government offices. It also coordinates programmes related to the promotion and development of Hindi throughout the country.
The Prime Minister is the Chairman of the Committee. The Home Minister generally functions as the Vice-Chairman. Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of selected States, Members of Parliament and distinguished scholars of Hindi and other Indian languages are included as members.
Main Functions
- To formulate broad policies regarding the Official Language.
- To review the progress of Hindi implementation.
- To coordinate the efforts of various Ministries and Departments.
- To promote the development and propagation of Hindi.
