"विश्व हिन्दी दिवस"

विश्व हिन्दी दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 10 जनवरी को मनाया जाता है। यह दिवस हिन्दी भाषा के अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रचार-प्रसार एवं वैश्विक स्तर पर उसकी प्रतिष्ठा को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से आयोजित किया जाता है। 10 जनवरी 1975 को नागपुर में प्रथम विश्व हिन्दी सम्मेलन आयोजित किया गया था। इसी ऐतिहासिक घटना की स्मृति में प्रत्येक वर्ष 10 जनवरी को विश्व हिन्दी दिवस मनाया जाता है।

इस अवसर पर भारत सरकार का विदेश मंत्रालय (Ministry of External Affairs - MEA), विदेशों में स्थित भारतीय दूतावासों एवं मिशनों के माध्यम से तथा राजभाषा विभाग द्वारा हिन्दी के प्रचार-प्रसार हेतु विभिन्न कार्यक्रम, संगोष्ठियाँ, कार्यशालाएँ, साहित्यिक आयोजन एवं प्रतियोगिताएँ आयोजित की जाती हैं।

हिन्दी विश्व की प्रमुख भाषाओं में से एक है तथा करोड़ों लोगों द्वारा बोली और समझी जाती है। विश्व हिन्दी दिवस का मुख्य उद्देश्य हिन्दी को वैश्विक मंच पर स्थापित करना, अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर इसके प्रयोग को प्रोत्साहित करना तथा भारतीय संस्कृति एवं सभ्यता के प्रसार में इसकी भूमिका को सुदृढ़ करना है।

विश्व हिन्दी दिवस, हिन्दी दिवस (14 सितम्बर) से भिन्न है। हिन्दी दिवस भारत में संविधान द्वारा हिन्दी को संघ की राजभाषा के रूप में अपनाए जाने की स्मृति में मनाया जाता है, जबकि विश्व हिन्दी दिवस का उद्देश्य हिन्दी का अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर प्रचार-प्रसार करना है।

 "World Hindi Day" (Vishwa Hindi Diwas).

 World Hindi Day (Vishwa Hindi Diwas) is celebrated every year on 10 January to promote the Hindi language at the international level. The day commemorates the First World Hindi Conference, which was held in Nagpur, India, on 10 January 1975.

The Government of India decided to observe 10 January as World Hindi Day to enhance the global recognition and use of Hindi. On this occasion, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), through Indian Embassies and Missions abroad, and the Department of Official Language organize various programmes, seminars, workshops, literary events, and competitions to promote Hindi worldwide.

Hindi is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world and serves as an important medium for cultural exchange and communication. World Hindi Day aims to strengthen the status of Hindi on the global platform and encourage its use in international forums.

It is different from Hindi Day (Hindi Diwas), which is celebrated annually on 14 September in India to commemorate the adoption of Hindi in the Devanagari script as the Official Language of the Union.
